Operating: Playing vs Listening vs It's own Erotic

Operating: Playing vs Listening vs It's own Erotic

For my final project, I'll be playing my portfolio/ presentation on a powerpoint. The only thing thats really private is the actual work I do when creating edits and logos and the different layers i create in these pieces. I could screen record what I do but that would take forever and a lot of hours would have to be recorded. My portfolio is 100% open to the audience for visual and feedback. I feel like in this type of work, feedback is the most important. For example, with this edit, I took most of the background out and used a gradient background and I honestly liked it better. One of my friends brought it up and I took his advice. Absolutely my projects can be re-made or re-preformed. In the Miami logos, I simply just did different color ways/patterns. The choices on the color ways are endless, just depends on what I like. "It is not possible that a musician be deaf by pure contingency or poignant destiny (they are the same thing)". The Final project is almost finished just want to do a couple more edits and make my powerpoint.

The Death of the Author

The Death of the Author

The role in authorship for my final project has multiple meanings behind it. The first is trying the best I can to impress the audience/ viewers with with my knowledge of graphic design. The second thing is improving and learning from previous work. As in what can I do better in the next edit or logo. The last thing is just having fun with my work because in graphic design, the sky is the limit when creating anything. I consider my work to be original since the edits and logos I make are done by me. This edit down below, might think that the way this person is moving is graceful and peaceful. Others might think different. "He who was so good at Greek that in order to translate absolutely modern ideas and images into that dead language". The final project is coming along good. Working on new things and cleaning up previous work. Using a lot more tools and techniques in new edits. Excited to show my final presentation.

Image and Intention

Image and Intention

They talk about multiple messages. The third message is cultural. This sign starts to separate from others. Lexia basically means the same image but others can think different about the situation. These differences or variations can depend on four different knowledges. It's practical, national, cultural, and aesthetic. Put these ideas into a photo and it's like your reading the photo, not just looking at it. "It is as though the image presented itself to the reading of several different people who can perfectly well co-exist in a single individual". Linguistic message is simply answering the question in a artistic way. Symbolic message means explaining to someone through action. Literal message uses exact words based off the meanings. Whenever I think about this, I think that I'm in the zone and kind of block out the outside voices/ distractions. Its just me and the thing im working on, nothing else. When I get distracted, I lose focus and then im not using my different knowledges. In the both of these photos, I blur everything in the background because both men are just focus playing the guitar with love and compassion. The final project is coming along good. Working on new things and cleaning up previous work.

David Najib Kasir Response

David Najib Kasir Response

Kasir was a painter in the Milwaukee area for most of his life. What he tries to accomplish in his work is the beauty of the middle east before disasters. His mother's birthplace was in the middle eastern part of Syria. Syria is basically a third world country and buildings have been destroyed due to violence and war. His mother left during all this mess to have a better life. Kasir wanted to change the thought process of others when thinking about Syria. His work is mainly focused on men, women, and children that live in or trying to leave Syria. He also wanted his work to tell people that live in these areas to leave immediately and be safe when dealing with these hard times. I love in his work the different patterns flows nice and has this middle eastern theme. It's also shown in these paintings the realistic life in Syria, showing the injured people and families hugging each other because there scared of the violence. The first photo, it shows red spots meaning the person is either injured or hurt. The second photo shows 2 kids hugging each other because there scared but theres a hand in the background reaching out to them, kind of like in a helping motion to take the kids to safety.

Milton Glaser

Milton Glaser – Student Poster Exhibition – BINUS UNIVERSITY International Graphic Design

Working on this presentation was extremely fun and energetic. I found out a lot about Mr. Glaser. Glaser worked extremely hard and didn't take a lot of days off. Milton Glaser was a graphic designer in New York. He was educated at the High School of Music and Art and the Cooper Union art school in New York. He lived in New York pretty much his whole life. Glaser and a couple associates created Pushpin studios where they created all types of things. Glaser was the director of Pushpin Studios for 20+ years. Pushpin Studios was at the top and best known around the US for their work. Glaser and Pushpin Studios created serious influence in graphic design that some of their work is in the “Louvres Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris”. He has his own company and does a lot of design things for stores and restaurants.

Portfolio Final

 Portfolio Final

For my final, I'll be presenting my portfolio and my clothing brand that I am starting up with a friend. I will show the different tools and other filters I used to create my work. I used some techniques like motion blurs and double exposure.  The clothing brand is called "Dare to be Great". Us athletes want to compete and be the best possible, hence why our brand is called Dare to be Great or (DTBG). And then at the end of the portfolio, the last couple of slides is just a bunch of miscellaneous edits that I was messing around with. Some of these edits I've been working on for months, other edits I've worked on for days. The time it takes on these edits/logos depends on what style/edit your doing. The reason making these edits is because I feel like I'm in my own world and I control the outcome of my work.
